At Mountain Warehouse we are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use personal data. Information that you enter when registering an online application enables us to process your details, education and work experience against our role requirements to assess suitability for the applied position and, of course, to inform you of our decision with regard to the application.

- CV, so we can review against the role requirements.
- Home address details, so we can contact you about the role you have applied for.
- Email address, so we can contact you about the role you have applied for and notify you of job opportunities in line with your job preferences.
- Telephone number, so we can contact you about the role you have applied for.
- Employment history and educational background, so we can assess your suitability against the role requirements.
- Information about your criminal record, where relevant to the job you are applying for and in line with substantial public interest.
- Passports/Visas, to comply with our legal obligations to establish your eligibility to work here.
- Information about medical or health conditions, including whether or not you have a disability for which the organisation needs to make reasonable adjustments.
- We may ask for references but will only action these should you accept a position with us.
Information we collect from other sources
We may use 3rd parties to provide us with other publicly available information about you that you have published on the Internet – this may include sources such as LinkedIn and other social media profiles.
Who we share your Personal Information with.
We may share job related information about you to relevant hiring managers here at Mountain Warehouse, so they are able to access and evaluate your application against job requirements as part of the recruitment process.
We may share your data to external providers to enable us to conduct the relevant Employment and Right to Work checks

Automated decision making / profiling
Automated decision-making takes place when an electronic system uses personal information to make a decision without human involvement.
We can only carry out this type of decision-making where the decision is:
- necessary for the entry into or performance of a contract; or
- authorised by EU or Member state law; or
- based on your explicit consent.
Security
We take appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data is kept secure including security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in any unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to view it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
How long we keep your personal data
We retain all candidate data for a period of 12 months from the time of application. If you request that we hold your data so that you can be informed of any future opportunities, we will keep your data for another 12 months.
Your personal information will be deleted on receipt of a written request from the applicant and where there is no legal requirement to maintain the information.
Your rights
Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information (known as a “data subject access request”).
- Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you.
- Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
- Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party)
- Request the restriction of processing of your personal information, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
- Request the transfer of your personal information to another party.
- Require us not to apply automated decision making and profiling to your application
